Apart from malls, shopping complexes and some other shops, shops were allowed to open in the state from today. But by noon it was revealed that the exemption had been withdrawn in 4 metros in the state. This U-turn of the government was clarified by Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani in the evening. He said there was no point in easing the lockdown. The decision was taken by the state government on the basis of a waiver granted by the central government. But the Center also said that the state can take a decision on these concessions keeping in view the condition of its cities. But small and wholesale traders in the state had voluntarily agreed to close business in 4 metros till May 3.
Apart from this, he said in response to questions about the condition of the corona in the state and the death rate, the recovery rate in the state is 60 per cent. Apart from this the government is transparent about Corona's statistics. Death figures have not been withheld. Eighty per cent of the deaths in the state were patients who had diseases other than corona. That means only 20 percent of patients have a cause of death.
